Ingredients

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup tequila
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil, optional
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 1/2 pounds London broil
  • Cilantro leaves, for garnish

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients except London broil. Process until smooth. Place London broil in a non-reactive container and pour marinade over top, turning it to coat. Refrigerate for at least 4 to 6 hours before cooking.

Preheat grill to high.

Place London broil on white hot grill, and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, flipping the steak 4 times (cooking time will vary with thickness of the steak).

Let steak rest for at least 10 minutes before thinly slicing against the grain of the meat and on a bias for wide but thin slices. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

    Wasn't too impressed

Rated: 3 stars out of 5
Although my husband liked it, I wasn't too impressed with this recipe. The terryaki was too strong and I could not taste the... other ingrediants. The Tequila should have been a prominant taste but I couldn't tell it was there and I was concerned about the Jalapenio making it too spicy but I think this recipe would have been better if it had been. Instead, it was flat. I'm rating it avarage because my husband liked it. Read more

    Best tasting ever!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This marinade is amazing on all cuts of meat! I have not yet tried it on fish, however the flavors explode in your mouth! ... I will agree as in other reviews that it is probably not for all children's palates however, my daughter who loves steak, loved it! The other thing is that this recipe is really easy...great to mix up the night before, throw your meat in and grill the next day. Read more

    Don't consider the bad reviews!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I consider myself a decent cook. I reviewed the good and bad reviews on this recipe (which I typically do), but focus mostly... on the bad ones. However, I decided to try it anyway and was pleasantly surprised! The marinade was great, especially with the tomatoes. This is definitely a taste for adults, not children (as mentioned in reviews); but for me and my wife, the taste was out-of-this world. Good job George!!!!!!Read more

I used this recipe as inspiration then added my own touch

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I changed the recipe up a little based on what I had on hand. I did not have a jalapeno pepper, so I used Sriracha Sauce... instead. I did not have teriyaki sauce so I used soy sauce. I cut the sauce recipe in half because I felt like it would make a lot of sauce, and for me It was perfect. I also added a little honey for sweetness and a little plum wine vinager. It is cold here so I also broiled it 8 minutes on each side. It was very moist and flavorful! I will definatley make this again. Hopefully next time I will have all the original ingredients on hand.Read more
