Not Just For Thanksgiving--I have made this many times over the past four years--EXCELLENT.
I make it as a steak topper or whenever I make French Onion Soup, I put a small ladle full in the top of the Ramekin before topping with a bread slice and Greyere. That's my secret to Great Onion Soup!

I made this gravy on thanksgiving day this year. I had purchased a gourmet turkey from a local specialty store so when it came to gravy I had no giblets to make my traditional version. I will never go back to the traditional version! My family and friends loved this recipe. I thought my younger brother was going to get a bowl and eat it like soup!

I don't know if I would use this as a gravy but I would definitely cook some egg noodles, and heat some leftover turkey it would be wonderful.

My whole family loved this gravy and we will definitely have it again. You really have to be patient and make sure you stick with the reduction until you get the gravy consistency but it is really worth the wait and it is not too thin.

I made this gravy for Thanksgiving and everyone still talks about how good it was. I plan to make it again for our New Year's dinner.

I made several recipes from Food Network for Thanksgiving. They received 1-4 stars. This recipe was the only one that the family raved about. I had people that hated mushrooms comment about how good the gravy was to eat.

Like many others reviewing this recipe I found the gravy very tasty but too thin. To solve this problem I took and immersion blender and blended the mushroom slices with the liquid until I was satisfied with the thickness. The result, another low carb winner to go with the stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Thanks George for showing us how to have a full scale Thanksgiving without blowing it.

The gravy is way too thin and watery to use for Thanksgiving dinner. It really needs to be thickened somehow.
