We have definitely found the mashed pototoe recipe that I family will always use for family dinners. We have used Giada's receipe for 2 years now during the holidays and separately for our own family dinners and we have the best compliments about the mashed potatoes - we seldom have leftovers- but when we do reheat them the next day - they are just as good if not better! Thanks Giada for helping another Italian family eat well!!!

Had a "trial run" last night in preparation for Thanksgiving....AWESOME. Used a potato ricer...creamy, smooth, just a little crunch on top. No more bland mashed potatoes!!

I saw Giada make these right before Thanksgiving last year. I made them ahead of time to make sure my family would like them. My son tasted them and said we just "couldn't take it to his sister's for Thanksgiving. We'll have to leave them here." as he put another forkful in his mouth. They were a BIG hit with everyone. Absolutely no leftovers. They are creamy and rich and very easy to prepare. They're great to travel since they can be refrigerated. Once you get to where you're going put them in the oven and 30(or- so minutes later take them to the table! They were requested this year. Absolutely delicious!

Darn good mashed potatoes! These are a tasty alternative to the usual mashed potatoes (especially since I loathe gravy. We prepared exactly according to instructions, and they were perfect.

Delicious recipe! I subsituted the mozzarella for smoked mozzarella along with the parmesan cheese. I used 2 cups of heavy whipping cream instead of the 1 cup of milk. I used 2 cups of heavy whipping cream because the consistency of the cheese was a bit much and I did not want it to come out dry. I also used garlic salt instead of regular salt for a bit more flavor and used panko bread crumbs for more of a crunch in lieu of regular breadcrumbs for the topper. If you all are getting bland potatoes, you are NOT tasting them prior to placing them in the oven. Season to taste and add enough milk or whipping cream and your potatoes will be perfect!

This recipe is absolutely delicious. I've made it multiple times. It's almost even better leftover and reheated the next day!
