i loved this! first time i had affogato. i didn't add the whipped cream on top b/c i didn't want the extra calories. It was delicious without it. i've made this 3 times this week!

@babymac - my mother has these serving cups - she bought them in Finland when we lived there in the 70's. They are made by a Finnish glass company "ittala" I think is the name. Don't know if they still make them.

Amazing recipe but where can I find the cups that are pictured. Presentation is key here! Add a touch of Amaretto, yummy!

I made this today for my family, and we all enjoyed it very much! I actually made the Affogato in my espresso cup's and the only complaint I received was that the cups were too small, indeed they were so next time I?ll use a bigger cup, the ice cream goes perfect with the espresso at first I thought this will definitely need sugar but to my surprise it didn?t everything balanced out perfect together. I used chocolate ice cream instead of gelato because I didn?t feel like driving a few cities away to go buy some gelato at red brick pizza, maybe next time I will, for the topping i used french vanilla cool whip that?s already made. I will for sure continue to keep making this yummy dessert drink!!!

I like to melt a little bit of chocolate in a double boiler and brush the insides of the serving bowls with it (all the way up the sides and the bottom. Place bowls in the fridge for a few hours. When you add the hot espresso it starts to melt the chocolate and makes this even more yummy. I then use vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate.
