It was DELICIOUS! Very, very refreshing, like eating watermelon in the middle of the summer heat. I tried it without the alcohol, and my kids loved it!

Also, don't add ice until ready to serve!

This was a PERFECT drink! I substituted 3 Tbs. honey for the Agave Nectar. The drink is so delicious and sweet, I'm not even sure I'll add honey next time. It could totally stand alone without any extra sweetener, but the sweetener certainly doesn't make it too sweet, so go ahead and add some honey or nectar if you like it sweet! Delicious!!!

It had great flavor and I love the agave nectar but the fresh pineapple made it a little to thick for me. I want my tropical drink to go down smooth and this didn't do it.

I'm really surprised that you implied agave nectar was a better sweetener than sugar because it's natural. It's actually processed much like high-fructose corn syrup with enzymes and chemicals to converts the starch into a fructose-rich syrup—anywhere from 70 percent fructose and higher. Since sugar is about half fructose, it may actually be the better choice; fructose causes an increase in uric acid; inhibits nitric oxide, which would otherwise reduce our blood pressure; initiates lipogenesis (excess fat production and initiates an enzyme that inhibits our insulin receptors. It's not natural, has 60 calories per Tbs (granulated sugar has 46, and is highly refined.

Eh...not the best tropical drink I've had. I think what bothered me is the chunks of pineapple; it made the drink kind of stringy..yuck. Maybe it would be better with just fresh pineapple juice? Either way, I probably won't be making this again.

Just the right amount of sweet and tart and liquor. Todd English's 'Iced Teaquila' used to be what I would make for something sweet with a kick, but this is a great alternative and a keeper. Thanks!

I had made this drink for father's day weekend; we had a bbq for several fathers, friends, and family. It was a hit. Everybody liked it, cool and sweet and refreshing was the decription I got. It was hot that day, 102... I even gave the printed out recipe to a friend. Thanks Giada...excellent drink!!!
