Not a fan of this cake. It wasn't terrible but it definitely wasn't good either. If I am going to take the time to make something from scratch it better be worth the work and this cake just wasn't worth the time. My cake was also dense and I followed recipe exactly. I was expecting something light with a hint of lemon and instead I had a dense flavorless cake that no one wanted to eat. I did not care for the sauce either as the honey overpowered every other flavor. I will not be making this again.

The cake came out dense and chewy instead of light and fluffy like other angel food cake that I've had.
I did everything as per the directions!
I made the yogurt sauce with greek yogurt, which came out pretty good.
However, I will probably not make this recipe again, due to the cake texture.

This was just amazing. Better then any angel food cake. You really can't mess this up. Instead of the yogurt sauce I stewed some berries and with raspberry blueberries and strawberrys and it became a tasty sauce with fruit and some whipped cream. It was a hit in my house!

Yum. Yum. Yum. I love how the perfect amount of lemon flavor comes through this light, fluffy cake. Such a perfect cake for the summer. The bitterness and sweet honey in the yogurt sauce was the perfect compliment. I followed the directions to a T, and it came out perfectly except for the fact that it stuck to the pan :( That's what I get for buying my cake pan at a grocery store! I'll use some pam next time.

OMG I love this recipe. In 2008 I was so obsessed with this recipe, I'd watch the same episode over and over. Just got around to making it recently, and it was exactly how I expected. The angel food cake was so light and delicious, and the sauce was sweet but still delicate. Love it :

Great recipe and the sauce made the cake delicious! If anyone has problems finding cake flour, just ask for help. I found it in the flour aisle - Softasilk was the brand I bought and it worked out great!

This is my first time ever making this Angel Food cake and also my first time ever making something from scratch off of Foodnetwork. It was very easy to make. The tast was okay for me for being something I had never tried before. I might make this cake again. And to the person who asked about the temp eggs or cold eggs, just go with what ever they say...if they say to use cold eggs then use cold eggs and if they say to use room temp. eggs use room temp. eggs.

The hardest part with this recipe was finding the cake flour. I think it was labeled pastry flour and that threw me off. The cake is very easy to make and the sauce is delicious. I let the egg whites come to room temperature as the recipe recommended. It is worth it to make this angel food cake vs. using an angel food cake mix or buying one at the grocery store. I think the pastry flour and the lemon zest brought a freshness and uniqueness to this angel food cake. My friends raved about both the cake and the sauce. I used plain Greek yogurt for the sauce.
