It was a bit sour for me. - think if included honey it would compliment better with onion and cheese; I used a smoked Gouda.

Well worth the effort, which actually is minimal except that you have to keep stirring the apples about every 10 minutes.
I used "Seasoned Apple Cider Vinegar" (that's "Seasoned" as in "aged" made by Nakano. It has a wonderfully full apple taste.
I substituted blue cheese because that's what I had on hand; wonderful!

Giada does it again!!! This is a KEEPER !! I made the filling ahead of time before my company arrived for dinner, then just warmed it up before putting the topping on the cheese and bread. Everyone RAVED ...and wanted the recipe. Thanks Giada.

Amazing and delicious !!! Very easy to make !
I watched the segment on TV and wanted to make it immediately but did not have the right ingredients ...so I substituted the Thyme for Basil and the Gorgonzola for " Brie Blue " which we had in the fridge...and they turned out very , very good as well. !
I can't wait to try the original recipe... Thank you for great ideas and recipes

I turned Giada on after work and she was making this and it looked so fantastic, I had to run right to the store to get the ingredients I didn't have on hand. It was so worth the trip!! I did the same as she with the gorgonzola toasts. Sooo yummy!!! I wouldn't change a thing.

Extremely delicious. I paired this crostini with tomato basil soup, I believe it was, and topped it off with an orange and fig cupcake with goat cheese frosting. Talk about savory.
