I have to tell you , the most wonderful delicious recipe...my family of picky eaters loved this, it was extremely easy and not alot of ingredients...thats the best part, I didn't have to go get anything "special" from the store to make this. And the cinamon whip cream is to die for! Delish!

This reminds us of "Apple Fritters". They are very very good!

I made this zeppole today and I they were just ok. A little too greasy and not that much flavor. I was expecting better. As I said, they were not terrible but I am probably not going to make them again

I found it was extremely difficult to fry the apple zeppole because my batter was thin, i tried adding flour thinking that that would thickin it a bit more but it seems like it needed alot more flour and sugar so that you could fry it. Also, i would recommend shredding one more apple because i didnt taste the apple very much. The frying is really messy if the batter is thin and end up looking like fried chicken rather than the "ball" look. Overall, if you make the batter thicker and add a little more apple itll definitly be one of the most delicious dishes desserts you have tasted. I loved it.

It was so easy to make. Infact I think it was fun to put them in the boiling oil and watch them fluff up golden brown. I actually substituted the apples for bananas. They worked out great too.

I made this recipe on a cold, winter day and it was very easy. I stuck to the recipe to a tee. I was a little disappointed with the outcome, but maybe it was just because I was making it and not Giada! It seemed to lack something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. They still had a good flavor. The cinnamon dip was delicious. The apple zeppole needs to be served warm, as it tends to be cold and greasy when left to sit. One thing that was not practical was using so much olive oil, and since olive oil is so expensive, I may try to use canola oil the next time.
