Served this last New Year's Day for lunch along with Anne Burrell's "Ham & Mortadella Panni with Pickle Hot Pepper Relish" - my family loved every bite! Both receipes are now a tradition for New Year's Day.

Oh Giada... what a gem. Your salad has found a place at our Christmas Eve dinner, which says a lot. Our Family's menu hasn't been changed in 5 generations! Hugs.

I made this recipe for a New Year's Brunch, and it received rave reviews. The Panettone gives it great texture and flavor. I am making it again this year. I did roast the fruit a few days earlier, and added the croutons and dressing just before serving. Yum!

Can you roast the fruit ahead of time? I'd like to just put it all together when I serve it, if possible.

I made this salad for Christmas Dinner and everyone loved it. It is different and the taste fantastic. Everyone loved it.

If you substitute and don't follow this recipe as written, you should not be rating it. Not fair.

Try it the way it is written and you will see how good it is.

I'm sorry, Giada, normally I love all your recipes and so do the people I have made them for, but this one just doesn't make the grade. The reviews were all so good, I thought it would be wonderful, but I thought the flavors just didn't jell. I had to use all pears as there were no plums available. I also put in a baking apple. I ended up throwing the whole salad away.

I made this for Christmas Dinner. I was a little worried because my family is very traditional about what they like to eat, and I like to change things up a bit every year. But everyone LOVED this salad. It was easy to make, the roasted fruit was very well received, and the croutons were a great match, and I used the other part of the loaf for bread pudding.

I made this for Christmas breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. It was much yummier than I expected. I too could not find plums, but strangely enough found pluots and they were great in this. I almost skipped using the panettone, but was glad that I didn't as it added great flavor to the recipe (and made wonderful french toast with the leftovers the next day. I'll definitely use this recipe again!

I made this for Christmas. I couldn't find plums so I just used more grapes. The taste was wonderful. I was so impressed by how beutiful the fruit looked. The color combination is great. I also really liked the pannetone croutons. I'll be making this one often.
