My girls watched this episode and wanted to try it. They did not like the dressing at all. It just taste like soy sauce. Maybe another dressing. We didnt have the basil so that was the only thing I left out.

This salad was so light and the dressing was great.
I added chopped scallions and sugar snap peas and mandarin orange slices from the can to make it a little sweeter..everyone loved this.

My husband and I love this salad!! I added some sunflower kernels, cilantro, and used more sesame seed oil than canola! Oh, and I used all cabbage!
Love it, thanks Giada!

I threw this together quickly - didn't measure anything and it turned out great. I used cilantro instead of the mint and white sesame seeds instead of black. i was in a hurry so I did not toast the nuts or seeds. I don't eat meat, so I left the chicken out. I added toasted sesame oil to the dressing. It took literally 10 minutes to make and it turned out great.

OK this is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! omgshhhhhhhhhhhh I have already made this salad twice this week. I LOVED it and my husband loved it too. I added a can of the manderin orange slices to garnish the plates and also added sesame seed oil to the dressing to give it more of an asian flavoring...it was amazing...I will make this salad again and again and again...forever. OH i also added twice the amount of suggested sesame seeds because the recommended amount just gets lost in the salad. I made double the amount of dressing because i like to be able to add more...which was an awesome move on my part!! if you are debating on a salad to make....you have FOUND It...you've GOT to try it!!

I really wanted to like this salad and there were some things I really did like:
The crunchy noodles
The mild cabbage with the lettuce mixture
Plenty of crunch with nuts, seeds and fresh veggies.
The bland?
The dressing. It needed some garlic and ginger I think. Even some hot chili paste might have elevated it.
I'll make it again for sure, but I'll either change the dressing recipe or use a different one altogether.
Glad to see Giada breaking out of Italian mode once in awhile.

We had this salad for dinner tonight and we really liked it. I used the mint leaves and they were a nice flavor in the salad. The salad was not dry, but next time I'll probably make just a touch more dressing for the salad. Otherwise, very tasty.

OH my goodness this salad was tasty!! I LOVE Asian salads anyways but being able to make it myself was delicious. I added a little more rice vinegar than the recipe called for, but I just like the taste.... I will be making this super easy salad again.

This is a very nice light salad. For those that thought the ingreds. were too expensive, you can change some of them to use what you have. ie use regular basil if can't find (or afford Thai basil, use another vinegar if don't have rice wine vinegar (white, cider, or white wine vinegars will work, Use angel hair or reg. cabbage grated fine if Napa is expensive and of course leftover chicken or grilled/roasted chicken breasts in place of rotisierre chicken.
