These pies were good. the filing was great! I just think it was a little to sour and the crust didn't bake right so that turned out sour too.

What a fun dessert. I used corn starch instead of arrowroot. They are so yummy and fun to make. I had no problems with this recipe.

I just made these adorable mini treats and me and my hubby loved them. I actually only ended up making 6 instead of 12 of them but i used the same amount of filling for 12 and it really worked out great. I think if i made 12 with that amount of filling it wouldn't be enough. If you make these double up on the filling recipe. I didn't have arroroot so i didn;t add it and they were still good. I def like the recommendation from another review to bake them a little before adding the filling mine were a bit soft but still delicious :-

Fun to make and OH so good! I didn't have any Arrowroot so I substituted Corn Starch. They were beautiful and impressive.

Thanks to other reviewers for the ideas, especially on blind-baking the crust before filling. I will try that when I make them.
In response to blaueswasser_7998595 - Arrowroot Powder is a thickening agent, very much like cornstarch, but does not become overly-thick upon cooling. It can be found at many health-food stores and in the bulk section of many "better" grocery stores. If you have a Whole Foods near you, they should carry it. Hope this helps you! Happy Baking!

These were easy to make. But i did make alterations. 1- I precooked the bottom crusts a bit (so they weren't chewy. After they baked the centers rose to where I pushed them back down. 2-I eliminated the honey and used sugar. They did taste great. But the top crusts were chewy and they did leak some. They had to alter that recipe when they went to commercial so they would look real pretty.I honestly think they leave something out so the viewer doesn't get the entire recipe (exact measurements.

I made these for Easter and they were excellent! I took a few of the comments below to tweak my process. 1. I added a teaspoon of sugar to the strawberry filling in effort to bring out the natural sugars in the berries. That seemed to help with the sweetness factor. 2. I also baked the shells for 4-5 minutes prior to filling them. This helped make sure that the crust on the bottom was fully cooked.
This was a very easy thing to make and I think I will try them again with different fillings. One weird thing that happened to me is that a few were hollow when they were done baking! And oddly enough they were ones that didn't have anything come out of the tops! I think I needed to fill them more. I will definitely try it again!

These definitely didn't turn out as great as I thought they would. The filling was not sweet enough and so much juice bubbled to the outside, they weren't pretty. I definitely recommend adding the sugar and I like the idea of baking the crusts for a few mins first. I don't know if I'd attempt making these again, but if someone has success with a different filling or something, I think I'd try it.
