I wanted to make this recipe for a quick snack so i left out the veggies and added ground beef. Although they tasted good, they were a bit bland and dry. If i were to make this again, i would probably add some seasonings and melted cheese. Overall, they were super fun to make and fairly good.

The kids enjoyed making this recipe. We made it with ground turkey for a Thanksgiving theme.
Will be making this again.

I tweaked this recipe just a little bit (like I usually do - but WOW! I do believe this is now a family favorite. So easy and fun to make with a great reward for the tastebuds! I used ground beef seasoned with onion, garlic and a little cracked pepper. I omitted the tomatoes, but did use the broccoli and asparagus. I even had leftover pasta mixture as I used a full box of whole wheat elbows and made a second batch the next night using a shallow casserole dish coated the same way as the cupcake pan, YUMM! Two nights in a row!

My son had these at a kids' cooking class, and insisted we make them at home, less than a week later. They are surprisingly good, and came out of the pan easily. A half batch made 17 cupcakes for us. Other than omitting the asparagus, we followed the recipe exactly. To cut down on the dirty dishes, I mixed the pasta, turkey, and cheese in the pan I had cooked the turkey in, and also used the water & pan from the pasta to blanch the broccoli. We'll be making these again, and may try the "cupcake" technique with a more traditional mac & cheese recipe.

These were certainly a hit with the kids. Thanks for such a wonderful idea. Giada, please keep them coming. I followed comments and added an egg as well as a generous splash of half and half. I used shrimp as the meat and just added frozen peas (which my kids like. Think ham would work great, too. They came right out of the cup, too.

Before making the recipe,I read reviews where problems arose. I modified the recipe & it came out scrumptious. I added 1/4 cup plain yogurt,1 egg, roasted sweet peppers, sauteed onions & stirred about 1/2 cup breadcrumbs(italian-style in the mixture. Only used 4 oz. ground turkey breast. I sprayed the muffins liners w/cooking spray & then put the breadcrumbs in & rolled it around to have the whole liner coated. I'll definitely make this again soon.
