My kids gobbled up this dish, but I made a lot of adjustments to it. I used regular sharp cheddar, not white. I added two lightly beaten eggs to help hold the cupcakes together, which worked wonderfully. I used panko for the bread crumbs. I also substituted green beans for asparagus and ground beef for the turkey. I mixed the veggies and meat in with the macaroni rather than layering in the cupcake tin. Oh - also, my husband is a vegetarian, so before adding the meat, I divided the mixture in half and added soy crumbles to his serving. All in all, it worked out well and was a hit in my family.

I read the previous comments before I tried. Tried creating a little crust with the Parmesan and bread crumb at the bottom and little on sides of cupcake forms to keep the cupcake from falling apart. It worked! YUM! Kids helped...it was a mess...but fun ! :-

It was really fun to make, my little sister loves them and she wants me to make them again for her birthday party next month, the only difference I'll add a little cheese on the turkey meat before I top the veggies to have a goowey center ^__^
Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Like many of the other comments I had trouble with the cupcake binding together. My intent was to pre-cook them and freeze them for later meals, however, since the binding didn't happen as planned it will be a regular pasta dish. I will try to add more cheese to make it bind better the next time.

These were just as much fun to make with the kids as it was watching it in the show, but they didn't bind well for us - so they were a real mess at serving. We'll try them again and change around watch the video again more closely to try to get them to bind. If we try them again and they bind together this rating changes to a five star.

HAVING COOKED WITH THE GRANDKIDS MANY TIMES, AND WATCHED THE USUAL PERFECTION OF GIADA - WHO HARDLY GETS HER HANDS DIRTY( HOW IN THE WORLD DOES SHE DO THAT! , THIS SHOW WAS PURE ENCHANTMENT.
GLAD THEY DIDN'T EDIT OUT THE THINGS THAT ALL KIDS DO..LIKE BITING THE HUNK OF CHEESE AND MAKING A MESS. LOVED IT!
PRETTY DARN BRAVE OF GIADA TO LET THEM GRATE THE CHEESE , THAT'S PROBABLY WHY THEY EACH HAD ABOUT $30 WORTH OF CHEESE IN THEIR SWEATY LITTLE HANDS.
SMART TO PUT STUFF IN SQUEEZE BOTTLES AND SHAKERS....BUT AS WE ALL KNOW THEY JUST KEEP SQUEEZING AND SHAKING. TOO FUNNY!
GOOD GOING 'MOMMY' GIADA!

Meat, cheese, and pasta....what's not to love! These were super greasy, from the cheese, but tasted great. All I had was garlic and parsley flavored mini whole wheat rigatoni noodle, but they worked great with this recipe. A real kid pleaser.

Was not impressed and my kids didn't even like them. I would not encourage you to try them.
