My husband isn't big on vegaterian dishes..even though he likss vegatables. So he wasn't to sure about trying it...He absolutely loved it, and so did I. I subsituted the Marinara sauce for "Classico" Spicy Red Pepper Marinara sauce, and instead of smoked mozzarella I used the Bristo blend mozzarella Sun dried tomates & basil blend. So if you like it with just a little kick this works great.

This recipe is so easy and good! I added a little red pepper flakes for some zing. A good one to make and count on leftovers for lunch.

This was the best pasta ever! Easy easy easy. Used my homemade sauce and smoked gouda, regular mozzerella and fontina since I couldn't find smoked mozzerella. Next time I'll add some eggplant too! Picky kids LOVED it!!!

The smoked mozzerella gave this dish a great flavor, and it's a great way to get in lots of veggies. My family aren't vegetarians, so I browned and added some sweet Italian sausage, but it would be good with chicken too.

this dish was great. I did add italian sausage because i wanted a little meat in it. I also used Smoked gouda since i couldn't find fontina and used plain mozzarella. these worked out wonderfully. I will definitely make this again. thanks so much

What a great recipe, particularly if you are looking for a pasta dish for a party that will please everyone.
We're big cheese lovers so I added a little extra of each of the cheeses.
It's also great left over or for make ahead of time.
Thanks Giada!!!

This was fantastic. It was colorful and very tasty. The smoked mozzarella 'made' this dish. A few of the penne got a little crispy during cooking. When I make this again, I will consider placing aluminum foil over the top.
