This recipe calls for "Tomato Sauce" which is what it is, and after making this and reading what others noted about watching the show, this is not correct.
This should be changed in the listed recipe to specify "prepared tomato sauce" or something similar--it was a waste of time, money, and wasn't very good as is.
Not impressed.
My wife and I each ate a piece, and threw out the rest.

This wasn't bad but I felt that something was missing. It wasn't a dish that makes you say "omg this is SO good"...... This recipe makes A LOT and sadly half of this went in the trash. Not sure if I will try to make again.

This recipe has no taste. The tomato sauce should be some form or seasoned sauce and the meatballs need more spice. The color is not very appealing either. Very disappointing...

I was not impressed with this recipe at all. The meatballs were not very good-they were very bland and needed something more, maybe sausage would be better or a mixture. As well the ricotta tomato sauce mixture was a little unappetizing looking. I felt that it needed some more seasoning and definitely a different sauce. I used plain tomato sauce, but it probably would have been better with marinara and no ricotta. It wasn't inedible, but I don't think I will try this recipe again unless I make some major changes to it. Very disappointing.

Very good, but agree that it was a little too cheesey. A little less rigota and a little more sauce and it would be perfect. Of course you need to use beef/pork/veal combo not ground beef!

My husband and I found this recipe to be very bland. There was too much ricotta. It also didn't call for any onion or garlic and it definitely needed some.

I made it tonight and it was good, not great, but good. It is a very easy dish to make though. Especially if you use jarred pasta sauce.
First of all, if you follow the recipe, it feeds more than it says it does. Unless you just want a ton of leftovers or have a large family I would cut the recipe down a bit.
The meatballs were very good; although I added red pepper flakes, oregeno, rosemary and garlic to them and I used panko bread crumbs.
I will probably make the dish again but cut the recipe in half and spice up the meatballs again.
I would probably also cut down on the ricotta and add more sauce. For me one 15 ounce container of ricotta is plenty. Following the recipe exactly it truns out quite thick; which some people really like, whereas I would prefer a bit more sauce. But that is just a matter of personal preference.

I made this for a crowd. It definatly makes enough to serve 8-10 (one serving a piece. That being said everyone had seconds and loved it. I used turkey meat, the leanest I could find and they were very juicy. The ratio of ricotta to saude was not what I like. Next time, and there will be, I will make it with a little less riccotta and a little more saue. I used my own sauce, very basic recepie that I use for baked pastas and quick meals, and it was fine.

I used Giada's recipe Marinara sauce for the tomato sauce, and parmesan instead of romano, just my preference. The meatballs are sooo good. Love this recipe!

I thought this recipe was wonderful! People need to remember that when they are looking at a recipe, you have to make it your OWN. If you like things meatier or if you like your pasta with more sauce, then make it yours and tweak the recipe. As far as our family, my husband loved it and it tasted wonderful. Since my family happens to love extra sauce, next time I make it I'm going to increase that ingredient. I also used jar sauce that I "kicked up a notch" to make it taste more homemade. I thank Giada for a great family dinner meal idea! :
