Tasty! I added a small handful of semi sweet chocolate chips and a few table spoons of wheat bran? I thought 2 cups of sugar was a ridiculous amount, so I used frozen extra ripe bananas. I zapped them in the microwave to get them really soft juicy. The extra juices made the muffin even more banana-y and that extra cup of sugar I didn't use wasn't missed at all.

The frosting was just the right match for the muffins. The muffins are great without the frosting too! Will make this again.

It's tasty - a little different. Frosting is more like a butter/cheese spread. I don't know if my uber American family can handle the non-sweet frosting.

My family loves this recipe! it has become a staple for me. I make them mini and freeze them for quick snacks and easy lunch box treats. the frosting is delicious but not necessary. they are yummy on their own!

I don't make the icing. We eat them plain and they are the best I've ever had.

Excellent muffin and not too sweet as some have commented. The frosting was not to our liking, I made it as is which really just tasted like butter. Then I added more cream cheese and powdered sugar not a ton, about a half cup and it was better. My suggestion make it as is and see what you think then tweak it as need be if it is not to your liking. If you love the taste of butter by itself chances are you will like it. Will definitely make the muffins again but not the frosting. I yielded 19 muffins filled to the rim, 24 minutes bake time.

I made these over the weekend (without the frosting. They were excellent. Only had three bananas on hand and it was still great. This will be my go-to banana muffin/bread recipe from now on.

This a wonderful recipe. My family, friends and I love these muffins. They are delicious with and without the frosting. I double the recipe so I can choose. The muffins freeze very well. After thawing I frost them. I have added toasted chopped walnuts as well.
