A very delicious soup. This is my second time making this soup. I used 1 lb. of the ground beef, added 1 small potato, and in the last 15 min. added about 1/2 cup of uncooked orecchiette pasta. I love all of Giada's recepies. ;

Great soup! I served it with crusty garlic bread. I put 1 lb. of ground beef & covered the pot for about 20 min because I didn't want it to reduce to a stew. I also used whole plum tomatoes & chopped them myself since I think they taste better. You could definitely add pasta or potato if you wish. Next time I may add zucchini to sneak in more green vegetables for my kids.
I added some dried italian seasoning like some people had posted.

GREAT recipe!! I added quite a bit of spices, and also added potatoes, fresh green beans, and a can of chili beans. Also, I made the beef into a meatball mix before adding to the soup. What flavor! My family loved this soup.....I will definitely make this again.

Definitely going to try this. I watched the show this week and the video on line does not show or mention the grain she used to pour the soup over. She mentioned this was the grain that bread was made from originally. I am gluten intolerant so have been searching for the grain she mentioned. Does anyone know? Thanks!
