I served this dessert with a heavy Italian dinner. It was the perfect ending. The Mascarpone cream was easy to put together earlier in the afternoon. I omitted the merinques -- too sweet.

What a simple and tasty treat after a long day...so easy to make and I even changed it a bit by putting the berries in a baked pastry shell and omited the crumbled meringe cookies.

I couldn't find the merinque cookies, so I got macroons and added and small piece of chocolate - so great!
