Oh God! Any recipe for a dessert using nutella is a good one in my book. I decided against the sandwich idea b/c i can't find flat biscotti. I took two biscotti and put them side by side on the plate as a base. I used coffee ice cream instead and added some water and espresso powder to the nutella. It sounds odd, but it was really great.

WHEN I WAS WATCHING HER DO THIS RECIPE,AND WHEN SHE PUT IT TOGETHER THE BISCOTTI LOOKED SO SOFT,I DIDNT SEEM LIKE IT WAS HARD,SO MAYBE IF I CAME UP WITH A VERSION OF A NICE SWEET BREAD,I COULD TOAST IT ON THE PANNI GRILL,THEN SPREAD IT WITH THE NUTELLA,I THINK THAT WOULD WORK OUT BEST.

I always feel bad when people write that they changed things, I don't want to insult the chef, but sometimes it works better for our personal taste. This was awesome. I used Galettes Normandie (Normandy Biscuits they're a flat, round butter cookie. I made eight, and only one is left for my daughter. (Who I made them for My son and his friend ate the rest in about 5 minutes.

Even before I tried it, it was obvious that - given the hardness of the biscotti and the softness of the gelato - the gelato would get squeezed out when we bit into the sandwiches. You'd be better off having them open-faced.
