I made the recipe for Blended Cherry Mojitos yesterday evening to serve to my guests who were coming for dinner. The mojitos were definitely a big hit and I will add this mojito recipe to my recipe collection. Reading through the directions and reviews, I became a little concerned about the mint leaves flakes floating in the drink so instead of adding the mint leaves to the cherries in the blender, I added the mint leaves along with the lime zest to the simple syrup then boiled the syrup for 5 minutes. I strained the liquid as directed. The result was a delicious drink with the flavor of mint without the green flecks floating in it.

I cut the sugar also to 1cup and it was still a little too sweet. I also added more rum. I liked the "slushy" consistency, great summer drink. Very rich deep red color.

I have made this recipe several times, and have made a few little changes. I like it a little less sweet, so I cut down on the simple syrup by half, and add extra rum. I like to mix this with champagne, and it is absolutely delicious!!!!

First of all, it all has to be strained before pouring it into glasses; otherwise, it tastes like a gritty salad. It also is awfully sweet. Still there is a rather nice flavor.

Tastes like a summer day in the sun. Refreshing, unique, minty and sweet. As I do for almost all Giada drink recipes, I highly recommend cutting the amount of sugar in half. I garnish mine with a mint leaf to make it more fragrant. Warning: might not be a great date drink, as you tend to get specks of mint in your teeth! :-D

Great drink. I found the syrup a bit too sweet so next time I will likely cut the sugar by 1/2 and possibly add more lime juice to the drink. I didn't strain the lime zest out of the syrup. I used frozen dark (sweet cherries.

These are amazing! I only used 1/2 of the simple syrup as per the suggestions here. I also only used 1/2 the mint. They turned out a little slushy but I think using only 1/2 the syrup is why. Next time I will not add the ice to the blender and just add it to the glasses. Great recipe, very refreshing!
