I was disappointed in these. They had no flavor. The store bought dough was bland, and the filing added nothing. I had high hopes for being able to use these as my new guilty pleasure. Not so much.

My son and I made these today. We needed a fun thing to do as it was a snow day.. They are delish! I find myself wondering if strawberries would work in this recipe...

Giada, I made these tonight for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. I thought there would be plenty left over to nibble on tomorrow, however, I was wrong. We gobbled them all up as soon as they were put on the table! Amazing. I used a candy themometer to make sure oil was hot enough. The turnovers were like butter - melted in my mouth. Delicious!

Man, I love you Giada! This is SINFUL delicious! You will have to make two batches, though, one for you and one for everyone else! This is definately my favorite dessert, brunch, snack or make up any reason, go to recipe.

These were wonderful, i have made them for my family as a dessert and they also work perfect for an after school snack for the kids. My whole family loved them and ask for them over and over! The only thing I did different was made the pie dough from scratch, a little more time but so worth it.
