I love Giada's recipes, so I decided to try this one. I'm not a big fan of blueberries, so I used strawberries and they we're delicious. I can't wait to try other kinds of fruit as well.

Followed the recipe exactly as written and after 30 seconds in the oil, they disintegrated.........my daughter and I were very disappointed.

I'am such a fan of Giada, but this recipe was awful. Maybe the recipe was o.k. it didn't turn out the way it was suppose to. As soon as the turnovers hit the hot oil, they fell apart. Yery dissappointed.

None of my local grocery stores carry mascarpone cheese...what would be a good substitute? I bought cream cheese but wasnt sure if it would work?

I made this for my family today and they were gone withon five mins!! : I loved them and the lemon bought out the flavors.. I made my own whipped cream and chilled for 10 mins. Then i fried each turnover to perfection(if i might say so and they were perfect.. It was my first time and i am in middle school and i really have a passion for cooking. I also passed home economics with 105%(yay... but any way i just wanted to throw my own personal cooking style in so thats where the whipped cream came from. I made my own with heavy whipping cream and a palful of sugar about two tablespoons. I also have a recipe for the bestt riccota cheese cookies they are so moist<3

These are absolutely amazing! They were super easy to make and tasted delicious! I put in a little less filling than the recipe called for so it wouldn't come oozing out when I tried to close them. Worked perfectly! I think I'm going to try these with strawberries next time. For those that can't find mascarpone cheese, try Whole Foods. That's where I was able to find it since my normal grocery store didn't have it.

I am not a fan of blueberries, but these looked SO wonderful I had to try with apples. I used chopped up apple pie filling so I wouldn't have to worry about whether or not they would cook up- so didn't have to use the cornstarch. Everything else was exactly the same and they came out beautifully. I topped them with a bit of cinnamon sugar. This was my first time baking with mascarpone and I'm sold on it. This would work well with raspberries or peaches as well.

The filling was delicious as it was. I had trouble sealing th edges (because I used premade turnover discs b Goya. The appearance of the filling changed after it was fried, not creamy looking. Still, the flavor was better than I expected. I made this a second time using strawberries and orange juice/orange zest and I liked the flavor combination more (because I am partial to those flavors. Sooooo good recipe.
