Going to try this the next time I make breakfast for my Sunday School class. Based on what I've read, i think I'll preemptively use only zest and not juice with the cheese and add a bit of sugar to the Cheese. Something else to try might be to cut back the cheese and add an equal amount of marshmallow creme. Cream cheese, marshmallow creme and cinnamon will make one of the tastiest fruit dips you'll ever eat. :

I need a quick and delicious breakfast in the mornings and came across this recipe. All I can say is WOW!!! With a few changes (for easy portability and time it was great. Instead of making dough I used a cinnamon-raisen bagle, layered with cinnamon-cream cheese (mix 8oz cream cheese with 1 Tb. cinnamon, 1 Tb. powder sugar and 1 tsp. lemon extract. Reserve unused portion in frig for later useTopped with seasonal fruit. For a healthier approach try low fat or fat free cream cheese and a whole wheat bagle topped with fruit.

I used a 16 ounce bag of frozen mixed berries (thawed and blotted with paper towels. Plan to try the fresh berries when in season. This dish is a taste sensation and it lasts quite a few days without losing any of it's freshness, too.

This breakfast makes for a beauitful presentation but based on taste alone I would not make it again. I agree with another reviewer below that the lemon juice curdled the cheese and I think the cheese needed to be sweetened with sugar. I also thought the pizza crust was too thick. I will not make again.

I make my dough in the bread machine using pastry flour, so the texture is much better than the store-bought. Bake in pizza pan at 425* 10-15 min.
For those who want a sweeter crust, or as a dessert, I have also used refrigerated slice-and-bake sugar cookie dough. Cut the cookie dough into 1/2-in. thick slices. Arrange slices on pan in a single layer. With damp fingers, pat together to form a crust with the outer edges slighly higher than the center. Bake for 14-16 min. or until golden brown and center feels set when touched lightly with your finger. Let cool in pan for a few minutes on a wire rack, then place in freezer for 5-10 min. or until completely cool.
I have also used fruit-flavored cream cheese instead of the marzcapone, with excellent results--less expensive and fewer calories.
I have used crushed pineapple with a a pineapple sauce which is excellent. Drain and save the juice of a 20-oz. can of pineapple chunks. Mix the pineapple with fresh fruits of your choice, including bananas. Arrange the fruit on top of the cheese in a nice-looking design. Place 1 c. of the reserved pineapple juice and 1 1/2 t. cornstarch in a small saucepan, and stir until smooth. Heat and stir until mixture boils for 1 min. Slowly pour mixture from a spoon in a thin stream over the fruit. YUM!

Just made this yesterday for Mother's Day brunch and it was AMAZING!! I have to say that I was a bit hesitant because the ingredients are a little pricey but the results were worth every penny! I found fresh pizza dough at my Publix's bakery that was perfect for this recipe and I used strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries for the "mixed berries". I didn't end up using all of the sugar mixture because I was afraid it was going to be too sweet and it turned out perfect (have about 1/4 cup left of sugar mix Def use the vanilla bean...makes such a difference and the marscapone cheese was delicious! Makes for a very impressive brunch and presentation was beautiful!

I LOVED the breakfast pizza! It was the perfect morning treat! I was afraid it was going to be too sugary with the cinnamon mixture, but it really wasn't :

I made this recipe for New Year's Day Breakfast. My cousin is a vegatarian so I decided to do a vegatarian new year style breakfast. The kids and adults loved this one. It was simple and delicious. The only thing is that the crust didn't turn out quite right, I belived I over cooked it. But that's my fault not Giada's, next time it will be perfect.

I made this for my family on New Years Day for brunch and we all loved it. The kids went bananas over it! It was so easy and the mascopone cheese mixture was so good I wanted to lick the bowl - LOL! This is one of those recipes I will make to bring to parties - it's a crowd pleaser for sure. Giada...you did it again - I love your show. You make me want to cook more creatively.
