simple and easy puree. I had watched the show and didn't look at the recipe, so I made by memory and forgot the chicken stock and used very little garlic. probably gave it a purer flavor. I'll make it again. I used it as a bed for grilled grouper with a herb rub. It was very light and healthy. will make it again.

Delicious! Folks, a recipe is not a law. If you think there's too much oil, put in less--I always do. Too much liquid? Put in less. Great recipe--again--from Giada.

Great tasting. The only problem I have is why so much oil?? I know olive oil is good for you, but fat is fat and when you have to watch fats you can do with so much less. Why not use olive oil spray to cook the onion?

Yummy, I actually enjoyed it as a soup, and surprisingly I am not a huge carrot fan but ended up loving it! The pairing with the yams is a great combo.

I have made this quite a few times now and my family loves it! It is especially great for kids with it's nice sweet taste. My 1 year old and 3 year old both have seconds! Great recipe Giada! Definitely a keeper in my house!!

I used 1/2 the called for chicken broth and used my homemade chicken stock. I used 3 very large carrots and 2 large sweet potatoes cut small. In the end, there was way too much liquid versus vegetables. I used a slotted spoon to remove and drain the carrots, onions, and sweet potatoes from the liquid and hand mashed the vegetables. The remaining liquid from my homemade chicken stock to make this recipe was totaled wasted! The end result was fairly tasty mush. I would never make this again. The recipe as posted needs to be revised.

I'm only a great cook when I have a great recipe. Giada, you are going to make a great cook out of me yet! I thought this was fabulous! A beautiful balance of yam and carrot flavors make this a perfect side dish for so many, many entrees. I wanted a thicker consistency so I eliminated all liquids before utilizing my immersion blender and it came out exactly as hoped for. I served this yummy dish along side apricot pork chops. My 91-year old mother, who doesn't really care for yams, enjoyed every bite. Thanks for another wonderful recipe.
