    This was absolutely delicious. I made it as a side dish for Mother's Day dinner. It was a big hit with everyone... grandparents to kids. I saved some of the bacon drippings to saute the bread crumbs, along with the recommended butter. I also added a touch more flour as thickener. The consistency was creamy, not at all soupy. We'll definitely have this again.

    Just made this for my family and they loved it!! It was a little soupy... I would use a little less half and half, or possibly more flour. I also left out the bread to keep the carbs down. The flavor was amazing! Rich and Cheesy (I used a little extra sharp cheddar! The capers were a great addition as well. Definitely will make this again

    I am eating this meal as I type this review. It's really tasty but like a few said, it's soupy. Not sure what I can do to make it less runny? Add more flour? Gruyere cheese is awesome, and so are the capers!

    I tried this recipe last night. All went really well until I went to top it with the bread crumbs. WOW that was a lot of crumbs! I dished it up and had to brush off the crumbs. They over powered the cauliflower. Once you get past it the rest of the dish tasted pretty good. Next time I make it I will reduce the amount of crumbs.

    This was okay. My husband liked it better than I did. Must admit however I used fontina cheese which probably made a difference. May make this again but next time with the gruyere cheese.

    This gratin is incredible. I added extra sharp white cheddar cheese to the mixture and the crust. I like a lot of cheese in my baked dishes! I used 1/2 heavy whipping cream and 1/2 half-and-half in an attempt to cut down on the calories that I wasted on the extra cheese. I used half fresh breadcrumbs that I put in the food processor and half panko crumbs. The capers threw me off a bit, but I'm very glad I chose to keep them in the recipe - they gave a tangy bite that a creamy dish sometimes need. Excellent Giada! Your recipes always impress!

    Made this recipie and it was only 'ok'. Perhaps I did something wrong, it really didnt get to creamy and I found it a bit on the flat side. Will try it again...

    We had a lingering bag of frozen cauliflower in the freezer, finally found a use! Was delicious.. although we left out to capers.... This will go into our favorites and we'll be making it again!

    I always think using bacon in a recipe is cheating, but so what? I think bacon and cauliflower were soul mates in a past life. I think this may be the yummiest and most successful side dish I've ever made. You should make it for someone who hates eating veggies; it'll change their mind.
