I took this appetizer to our gourmet group dinner. It was unanimous: everyone felt they were just too sweet and rich. The prosciutto didn't stand up to them, and since the filling is also rather sweet (the mascarpone there wasn't really a salty or tart contrast to the rich dates. I would try stuffed dates again, but not with this filling.

I have never had a date before but decided to try out this recipe. They are fab!!! Quick and easy and look super cute. I personally added more goat cheese because I like more tang with the sweet and salty, but other than that they are perfect. Thanks Giada!!!

This appetizer was served at a birthday soiree last night....yummy. I usually make mission figs with gorg. cheese wrapped in proscuiito but I think I like these "big" little morsels better. I HAD TO HAVE Giada"s new book the day it came out. The receipe is in there and is worth pitting the figs.

Loved everything about these...the salty/sweet combo in each bite left me going back for more. Made these for Super Bowl Sunday and everyone ate them up. I will definitely make these again for our next cocktail party!

I am a mess in the kitchen 87% of my recipes fail. These dates were the biggest hit at a holiday party. They were super easy and super yummy. They will be my go to party app. Although I liked them cold, I also grilled them. They were not hot by the time I got to the party but I think I will grill them next time .

I really liked this recipe. My boyfriend and I made the stuffed dates for Thanksgiving and they were a big success! I left the prosciutto off some (some of our family does not eat pork and they were great too! I am a big fan of prosciutto, and chives, but we added a little more goat cheese than mascapone because we too like the tangy flavor! We found a great juniper berry goat cheese at our local cheese mart (thanks Forward Foods! and it added an additional element that was amazing! Don't be afraid to try a goat cheese with a little more punch, especially with such sweet dates! I am making these again for a holiday party as part of my cheese platter, and they are sure to go fast! I think I will also try browning some too!

Simple, easy and satisfying. I served this as part of a wine and dine evening with a group of ladies. Everyone raved and said that they wanted the reciped.
Next time I do this, I will use a higher quality prosciutto because I felt the dish need more flavor. Only caution, be sure not to chop the basil too far in advance because it will bruise and turn brown. Otherwise, this was a great appetizer and a perfect 1-2 bite flavor.

This worked well because I made the Mascapone Toffe Bars for dessert and getting Mascapone cheese was worth it. I had made Savory Biscotti which called for goat cheese, too. So, I got more bang for my buck.
