Yuck. I usually love Giada's recipes, however I will not be making this soup again. The broth was fine (nothing great but ok and the tortellini was wayyy too rich. Both my mom and I couldn't even finish our bowls. I bought the dried pasta tortellini from Barilla, the three cheese one. The ricotta in the tortellini was too rich and over powering. Maybe this soup with a milder tortellini would be better.

I'm getting really irritated at the people who believe that because this recipe contains just a few ingredients, perhaps some of them canned or frozen, and you don't have to break out the food processor and the mixer that it's not worth eating. When you come home exhausted from a long day out and you need a good meal, what's wrong with making a quick soup with either frozen or canned chicken broth and whatever you have on hand to toss in it? I've been making this soup and the asian alternative (chicken broth with carrots, onions, and celery, then when boiling, add a bag of frozen potstickers, finish with a can of sliced water chestnuts, add onion powder and black pepper and pour into bowls, top with fresh cilantro and enjoy for almost 20 years now. Sometimes you just need a quick dinner and though the ingredients are frozen or canned, I still believe it's better than fast food, and besides, it costs just pennies per serving. And it tastes really delicious, too. My father-in-law was shocked at how good the asian soup was and he's used to salty, heavy foods. I love this soup as it's simple, tasty, and so easy when I need a quick meal. Was too hot to turn on the oven so I skipped the Parmesan Crisps, though I did shave fresh Parmesan on the soup. Tasted just amazing; clean and bright. Would recommend to any mom who needs a quick meal. To those of you who turn your nose up at the canned broth and frozen tortellini, you can make a huge meal and clean up your kitchen while I'm relaxing with my feet up.

The most Easiest & Quickest Soup I ever made. It was so good. I did add some basil, parsley, a little garlic & the parmesan cheese after the broth came to a boil. It was fabulous. A Must for EVERYONE!

Such a quick and easy meal with a wonderful flavor. I add some fresh or frozen spinach. This has become one of our favorite soups.

This is a very nice easy clean soup to make. I did however make two changes that I believe really made this soup even better. First, I added two minced cloves of garlic during cooking. Second, I added about 4-5 tbsp.(about half a jarof a good basil pesto to the soup pot right before serving. My family loves it and it has become a regular for weeknight meals.

I woke up this morning with a horrible cough and an even worse fever. I immediately decided I'd be making this soup for myself for lunch and dinner. It was so simple and so filling. I added a couple dashes of red pepper flakes to it, which gave it enough kick to clear out my cloudy head! I put a good amount of Parmesan cheese and garlic powder in there as well. Yummy!

This is sooooooooooo dang easy, even if your dog sick you could make it (although it would help if you didn't have to go to the store, so I try and keep the ingredients on hand.

I email this soup to all my friends who live far away and those that are sick, I make them some and send it to them.

Ive been looking on food network to find some good recipes. I need something fast and easy. This is the one. The soup was yummy and my kids loved it. The only thing i found was i had to cook my torellini longer then 20 mins.Other then that it was great!
On the parm crisp i couldnt do right. Im not sure if it was the pan or what? They burned and smelled the house up. So i wouldnt do that one again!

I made it for my sister.
I usually make her breakfast and lunch everyday.
I try to stick to simple, healthy recipes.
I used organic free range chicken broth with this recipe and I used meat tortellini instead.
The broth got so think and I just added some muggi and parsley to it.
    It was so good.
I enjoyed it and it makes a quick and easy lunch.
