Just made this again last night for dinner and it was delicious. I have no idea how anyone could possibly say it was bland. I used regular shredded mozzarella instead of smoked and we preferred it that way. Made it once before with smoked and the family didn't care for it.

This dish was delicious! I didn't care for the smoked cheese, so i used shredded mozarella/provolone instead. One of my children is extremely picky and hates "the green stuff" which is herbs, but he ate 2 helpings! This is the first time i've had marscapone, I live in the country and not many places has it. I plan on adding it to anything i possibly can, it's divine! Thanks Giada, I love all your recipes and you've really inspired me to start cooking!!!

I've had this recipe saved for a really long time, but had never made it...I highly recommend it! The results will, of course, depend on the quality of the ingredients that you use, but because we're trying to do vegetarian dishes for dinner more often than not every week, it was worth a try and it's so delish! I used smoked provolone slices instead of mozzarella, but the result was equally yummy! Will definitely make again!

This is such a great recipe. It's very versatile so I have made it for just my hubby and I, or a group of people. Recently I had a church group over (including an Italian and made this. They ALL wanted the recipe and thought it was wonderful! It's very easy and quick so you aren't in the kitchen the whole day even though it tastes like you were!

Awesome dinner on those cool autumn nights. Very quick to get together for a weeknight. I firmly believe that marscapone cheese is the key to achieving world peace!

I liked this recipe a lot, and used 3 cheese tortellini. The sauce was good, the combination of white and red wasn't too rich. The smoked Mozzarella made a very good cheesy crust, was one of my favorite parts. But only two out five people in the house liked it, so if you don't like cheese, then try putting some meat in the sauce, or using meat tortenllini. I wouldn't reccomend this as a main dish, unless you use the meat, because it would be too monotone ingredient wise.

not that memorable of a taste; i used fresh mozz, not smoked. now I have lots of leftover cheese which I will use for making my own baked spaghetti. This recipe would probably be tastier with some ground meat in the sauce (beef, turkey or sausage

I was a bit disappointed by this dish. I am a cheese lover, but smoked mozzarella just did not work for me. But I think that idea of adding mascarpone to marinara sauce is brilliant! I tested the sauce before I baked it and it very rich and creamy and not too heavy. I will try to add leftover mascarpone to pasta bolognese today. Since I saw some chefs adding lots of butter to the sauce, I have a feeling it will work!

Very good. Easy, flavorful and filling. The thyme and smoked mozarella are a must. Actually, smoked gouda works well also. Worth the extra calories.

I have been making this recipe for years & it is always a winner! The smoked mozzarella is really worth searching for as it adds wonderful flavor, but in a pinch plain old fresh mozz sliced thin will do!
