i've been making this dish for over a year now and it 110% deserves 5 stars!! i love it so much that as a fun switchup, i made it for our family's Easter dinner last year. everyone gobbled it up!

i love that it's so simple to make yet the flavors are bold and delicious. usually i can't help tweaking recipes to make them my own--but this one is perfect with the plain marinara and only the fresh thyme and parsley to season. my only complaint would be that the smoked mozzarella and mascarpone are a little pricey for everyday recipes, but they are the "fancy" ingredients that make it so special. plus, there's always a little of them left over for another batch or two but regular mozzarella could be substituted as well for less of a kick in taste.

i'm making it today and am using mini spinach ravioli instead of the tortellini because the store was out! i'm sure it'll be just as delicious :: thanks for a great addition to my menu, giada!!

I will never get smoked motzerella again. Did not like the fake smoke additive flavor. It would have been better with plain motzerella.

But the recipe was super easy and it would have gotten a 5 considering all else. I used a lemon thyme and it was good.

This is delicious! It is a staple meal in our home. Somtimes smoked mozzerella is difficult to find, when this is the case I substitute it with smoked gouda. Yumm! It is cheesy goodness with little bites of cheesy tortellinis.

Didn't like any of it. I thought for sure my kids would gobble it up but they hated it! I'm not sure what went wrong but the smoked cheese didn't work for us... This was a pretty fattening dish too...

I decided to use the smoked gouda as well and omg I think thats what made the recipe. There was so much cheesy goodness mmm, mmm, mmm! It actually inspired me to incorporate some of these ideas into my lasagna. I folded mascarpone into my ricotta mixture to make it nice and creamy and used shredded smoked gouda instead of mozzerella. It was so good my boyfriend and I almost ate the whole pan!

This was one of the worst meals I have ever made for my family. This was very costly for me to just end up feeding to the dogs. No one at the table had one good thing to say about this. Very bland. Not a fan of the smoked mozzeralla nor the mascarpone cheese either. Very very disappointed. But I stilll do love Giada's recipes for the most part.

I made this tonight. Prep time was so fast. Tortellini cooks up quickly, mixing the sauce while waiting, transfer and bake. I couldn't find the smoked mozzarella, so I used an Italian blend of shredded cheese instead. Turned out just fine. I also finely chopped some garlic and shallots and added some mushrooms. Next time I might add some spinach and perhaps the Italian sausage that some have suggested.

Can't wait to make this dish for the next big family event.
