I am floored by all of the comments saying that this stew was bland, quite the opposite. Yes, it is time consuming and a bit costly if you don't have the ingredients on hand but well worth it. The Chianti and kalamata olives make this dish amazing. A new family favorite - will definitely make again

I made this for a Sunday dinner. Everyone yummed the whole meal. The only thing different that I did was add raw brown sugar. It melts better and isn't as sweet as brown sugar or refined and it cut down on the bitterness of the tomato and beef. Other than that it was easy and delicious. It will be a staple in my family.

I slow cooked the ingredients in the oven at 300F for 3 hours, because I don't have a dutch oven to use on the stove top. It came out perfect. I used 3 teaspoons of cornstarch to thicken up the sauce. It's a great dish, but it takes a long time to cook.

I loved this recipe, my family loved it too. It's not always easy to please everyone, but this was a winner! I was so surprised at the wonderful flavor that the olives added to this dish. My only change was to add more garlic.

This is the same meal you can find at a famious chain restaurant which also comes with the Risotto rice and string beans. So it was great to make it cheaper at home since you pay about $17 per plate at the O. Garden

I made this last weekend for my boyfriend and his 17 yo self-professed "picky-eater" son who loved it and wanted it again the next evening! I am making it this weekend for my kids for Super Bowl Sunday! Goodby Chili; HELLO Chianti Beef Stew!!

First of all, this is not your mothers beef stew-if your looking for a traditional american, thick, tomato-ey stew-this is not it. This is however an excellent recipe as is! Its very earthy thanks to the rosemary and good chianti and addictive! With some good ciabatta bread and butter, this was a delicious dinner that even my picky 6 yr old daughter ate all of! Thanks Giada!
