This is a very simple dish with simple flavors but it's great. Definitely use a deli chicken to make sure the chicken breast is moist, and don't cook it too long or it will dry out.

For those who are inclined to substitute ingredients (i.e. sour cream for creme fraiche, please note that they are two different things. I noticed several reviewers using sour cream and then remarking that the finished product wasn't fully cooked in the time specified. Sour cream is a much 'looser' dairy product than creme fraiche, so that would account for needing additional time. Also the pan size she used was a fairly shallow oval one; if you used a deeper Corning-ware type round container, of course it would be uncooked in the middle with only 25 minutes in the oven. Please be careful what you write as a review when you have not followed the recipe as presented.

This dish was wonderful! While preparing this dish on her show Giada suggests using rotisserie chicken from your grocery store. That's what we did and it was not bland but fabulous! We are constantly watching our weight so we used two substitutions that worked out really well- egg beaters and low fat sour cream (in lieu of creme fraiche. We did, however, like many other folks have to cook this dish for about 10-15 additional minutes. Well worth the wait! Another great dish to add to our repertoire.

I would never alter a recipe then criticize it. So I followed the recipe to the letter and I have to agree with most...it was very bland. I reheated it the next day and it was dry and chewy. So in the trash it went.

Very simple and easy to make but overall lacked flavor. I may try some of the suggestions of what to add for the next time.

I don't know what people did to make this dish dry or bland. I followed the directions and made sure my ingredients were superb (went to an authentic Italian market and got fresh veggies. It takes a little longer than 25 minutes in the oven, but not the end of the world.

I impressed my wife and her coworkers when I brought this to lunch today.

    Grazie, Giada!

This sounded like it should be good. I read the reviews before I made it and decided to make a few changes, adding in some bacon, extra red pepper, and 1/3 cup freshly grated parmigiano reggiano cheese. It was still bland, I wouldn't make this again.

Cudos to all who thought to experiment with the recipe. I will be taking the great advice by adding a tsp of Tony Chachere's, sauteed onions & garlic.
I'll update afer Friday when I'm done.
