The chicken and shrimp were absolutely fantastic and this recipe has sparked a newfound love for pancetta but the chimichurri was a bit too oily for my taste. I tried it on top of homemade fettuccini and it was alright but the oil soup that was leftover in the bottom of my bowl was a little off-putting.

I love giada, but did not care for this recipe. BORING! The "green sauce" on her grilled lamb is so far superior to this sauce. Also wish she had a marinade for the shrimp and chicken.

I cheated somewhat the second time I made this...the first time I did it exactly as written, and it was very tasty. In the time between the first and second preparation I found a chimichurri recipe that I completely love, and so the second time I used that chimichurri recipe. Part of what I like about it is it has a little heat (really just a flavor, not hot, and I think it is absolutely fabulous with no oil whatsoever. The original chimi recipe I am referring to had called for a lot of oil, and I found that just a tiny drizzle right at the end is plenty, and I the flavors are so fresh and light without the oil.

The other change the second time was that I sauteed the pancetta first, and used those drippings in the pan for the chicken and shrimp. It just helped carry the pancetta flavor further into the dish.

Simple and simply delicious! I did not use the pancetta since I had none on hand. I also cut down on the olive oil, using only 1/2 cup. My father, my wife and my kids (hence the "generations" all loved the sauce. I knew it would be good on the shrimp, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was with the chicken. Mushroom risotto and a green salad completed the meal. Thanks Giada!

I have not tried this so am giving it 5 stars so as not to affect the overall rating given by those who have tried it.

I don't eat pork. Does anyone think turkey bacon or chopped turkey ham would work? I assume the meat in the chimichurri is critical and perhaps would not be good with no meat. Appreciate any thoughts.
