I can't imagine that anyone would find this dish boring or blah! Even my son, who won't eat anything not covered in cheese or ketchup, begs for this weekly! LOVE LOVE LOVE this easy to cook and exciting dish.

Very, Very Good! My husband gave it an A+ and said what a great meal. I read the other reviews prior to making the meal. I added mushrooms and red pepper flakes to give it a little heat. I also used skinless chicken breasts and cut them so there weren't these huge pieces. I served it over angle hair pasta and used Parmesan cheese. Used red wine which made the sauce taste more rich. Taste your sauce make sure you have enough salt and pepper. Thanks Giada for helping a girl out!

Wow. When printing this recipe for a friend, I noticed the "bland" "boring" "unexciting" comments. If you're willing to give it another try, then please refer to my review from last year (attached. Adding red pepper flakes really does add punch, & I season the chicken w/garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper to taste before browning them in the pan. Thanks! .....
Giada's Chicken Cacciatore is a favorite in our household. My hubby doesn't care much for chunky or diced tomatoes, so I use crushed tomatoes instead. Ditto on capers - I omit them. I do include fresh sliced mushrooms - saute them w/peppers & onions. To add a spicy kick, try sprinkling some crushed red pepper flakes into the sauce. Serve w/angle hair pasta, Caesar salad & Paula Deen's Herbed Monkey Bread. Yummy!

I usually really like Giada's recipes but this was so boring and flavorless. I used quality ingredients and San Marzano tomatoes in it. I think maybe it needed more time to cook so the flavors could develop? I wont give this a second chance though...it was just too blah.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! The chicken turned out super moist, I had it with mashed potatoes, my boyfried opted for angel hair pasta. We couldn't stop eating it, it was SO good! On the plus side it was so easy to make. Keep the awesome recipes coming!

I chose this recipe because of the reviews... but I found it to be unexciting and bland! Im not sure why. I followed the recipe exactly, but it needed something more! Chicken was nice and tender though.

Delicious! I used sweet banana and bell peppers and fresh tomatoes from the garden and I could not be happier with the outcome! Thanks, Giada, for another great recipe!

Overall, liked how this recipe came together, but I felt it needed something else... more capers? more salt (I may have under-salted it? By adding chili's I guess it's no longer chicken cacciatore, huh? Hmmm, yes, maybe some spice.
