5 stars for easy & delicious!! Some people found it bland but if you up the seasonings to your own taste as i did,,it was delicious.(I left out the capers but only because i didn't have any on hand...and I used a bit of red pepper for a kick.i find that lots of restaurant chicken cacciatores are bland and have a thin broth,,I never order it out but like to make mine to my own specifications... I just love this easy recipe that is adaptable to whatever way you like it...Update,,,my family likes the consistency of spaghetti sauce so i added a jar of Newman's Own Marinara...delicious...i will be using this as my new spaghetti sauce,, and it thickened up this cacciatore nicely...!!!

I tried many recipes over the years and this one is by far the best ! Quick and easy with tasty sauce and moist chicken. Didn't have the bell pepper, made it with fresh small button mushrooms and it was great. DELETED old recipes - SAVED this one !

Excellent! Used a smaller can of tomatoes which made the sauce thicker and added some red pepper flakes for a kick. Wonderful moist chicken and a great sauce.

Love love love this recipe . . . had a similar one years ago and this was the closet I could find to replace it!! Several reviewers mentioned that it seemed kinda bland. What we do is to also add fresh chopped garlic when cooking up the onions/ peppers and more while simmering after re-adding the chicken & rather than just dried oregano, we substitute a dried italian seasoning. We also add carrots to sweeten it up a bit & I go sans capers. I'll be serving this tonite with brown rice . . .in the past it seemed to me the sauce was rather thin for pasta . . . although someone's egg noodle suggestion sounded yummy. But it's definitely a keeper for our household!!!! What is one of the best parts of this recipe is that it can be easily modified to suit one's own taste . . . bon appetit!!!

Very good - made exactly as it was written...except I didn't have the fresh basil, so I substituted dried basil in the sauce. I browned chicken and made sauce 2 hours ahead, then finished chicken in sauce a little later. This was nice for a busy mom, plus most of my dishes were completed ahead of time. Changes? I might use crushed tomatoes next time because my kids don't really care for the chunky tomatoes. Mushrooms would be a good addition if you like that flavor. A GREAT recipe as written, but there is a lot of room to add your own personal touches.

This is such a great, easy recipe. I had to modify it since I was in Costa Rica on vacation. I used fresh tomatoes and chopped them up. I used a can of beer instead of broth and wine and lastly cilantro instead of oregano; I guess you could call it the Latin version of Chicken Cacciatore so if translated it would be Chicken Cazador. The recipe only goes to show how versatile this dish can be and how loose it can be. Giada is really one of my favorite chefs on FN, besides Tyler. Her recipes are simple, easy but always good. I really believe this woman can teach anyone how to cook. She needs to be on the next season of "Worst Cooks" seriously, this chic has a gift.

Made this last week. Followed the recipe except doubled the sauce since we were using more chicken (to feed 8 people. The flavor was great, and it was easy to make. The only criticism I have is that the sauce was a little thin. I think I would simmer it longer to help thicken it up. I served it over pasta, and the taste was great. Everyone loved it. Will keep in recipe box and make again, but will let sauce simmer a little longer. Also, leftovers were great!

Amazing and simple!! I didn't have the wine or the large can of tomato, so I used a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste and cooked it for 1-2 minutes with the peppers, garlic and onion, then upped the chicked broth to 2 cups. My family loved it!! Great recipe for a big crowd as well! Thank you Giada!

This was very tasty. I thought there was a little too much grease, but overall we enjoyed this dish.
