This was an awesome recipe. I suggest leaving the lemon zest off. Otherwise a very delicious recipe, my fiance loved it.

I'm not sure if I went wrong somewhere with this recipe considering the great reviews. I made this for myself and two others and we all that it was too rich and missing something. It was not worth the calories. It wasn't inedible. It just didn't do anything for me. It tasted very egg, very heavy and not a whole lot of flavor. This is one of the first food network recipes i've thrown away after trying. I was wondering how I was going to finish of a pound of this pasta as this recipe makes quite a bit and a little bit is very filling. Luckily the pasta tasted better after sitting in the fridge overnight. It reheated fine and I was able to finish it off after eating it for lunch and dinner for two days--I hate to throw away food, even it's not worth the calories! I will try another carbonara recipe as I've have had it before elsewhere I know that I like it, just not this recipe.

Made this tonight and my husband and I loved it. Took me a little longer on prep but worth the little extra time.

This was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it (even my 8 year old!! Only changes I made were to grill the chicken and I eliminated the walnuts. I would definitely make it again!

This recipe turned into a great meal. The entire family loved it. The lemon zest really made a subtle, yet significant difference in flavor. The pancetta tasted great, and I'm glad that I didn't substitute bacon in its place. I will surely make this again. A family of four will have some left overs to enjoy the next day.

I really liked this recipe! It was the first time I have ever made or eaten Carbonara. I suated chicken tenders in a pan with pepper and a little garlic seasoning instead of store bought chicken. The only other change I made was used 1/2and 1/2 to cut fat and calories and it still turned out delious. I will for sure make this one again.. oh yeah.. you can keep the egg whites and use to make omelets the next morning.
