As others have mentioned, the quality of the balsamic used when making this recipe is absolutely key. Made this last night with Costco brand balsamic (which is one of my faves and it was hands down AMAZING. I did cut the amount of balsamic down to about 2/3 cups and added a couple of tablespoons of evoo and 2 huge cloves of garlic. The entire family raved about the sauce. It is going to be one of my go to sauces this summer.

This recipe was quick and easy. My husband loved it! I did modify this slightly by cutting the chicken into smaller pieces and stir frying it with the sauce. I added the remaining sauce before serving and it was amazing!

Wow! Absolutely amazing! It is the best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted. It definitely has a balsamic vinegar kick so if you don't like the taste of balsamic vinegar, this is not the right sauce for you. I made steak & chicken. My husband, both kids age 18 mo & 3 yr, and myself ate every bite and asked 2nds. I paired the meat with an amazing 3 cheese pasta side dish. It was the perfect side dish to compliment and cut through the balsamic vinegar kick. We will have this meal again for sure! Thanks for the recipe.

Great flavor! I was worried about it ending up too vinagar-y but it wasn't at all! I used chicken and cut it up into strips to get more flavor in each bite. The sauce thickened nicely but had to simmer it for much longer than advised, more like 30 minutes. I also added a dollop of general taos sauce and some sirachi to spice it up. Served with sauteed green beans and even dipped those in the sauce. Won't make this every week due to the strong flavor but will add it to my recipe box and make it several times a year.

I read some of the reviews and I have to agree that the balsamic vinegar was just too overpowering! Every bite left me feeling and looking as if I had bitten into a lemon or something. Just too tangy, and I only added a little more than half the amount that was called for! This being said, I think the problem was probably the TYPE of balsamic vinegar I have. I have used it for a few other recipes and have always found that it just stands out way too much. Next time I make this recipe I'm going to use a store-brand one if I can find it.

I LOVE this recipe and so does my family! The flavor is amazing because it is sweet and tangy at the same time. I love making extra of this sauce and serving it over steamed asparagus to go along with the chicken and some wild rice usually rounds out the meal for us. I have never had any complaints when I make this meal, even when I have very picky eaters over. It is a great take on the clasic BBQ chicken and makes it a little more special. Some complained about the vinegar being too strong....make sure you pack the brown sugar down to get a full 1/3 cup and using a good balsamic vinegar helps too. Balsamic vinegar is the only vinegar I never buy store brand of.

I hated this recipe and I wasn't alone! My family hated it and my guests hated it. The vinegar was so overwhelming you couldn't taste the chicken. Just awful!
