The only reason I made this is because of the good reviews!! I added more chicken broth and no tomato paste. Also, substituted the beans with chick peas. I would use frozen carrots since these did not cook down very well. But, it was delicious and will make again!

I seem to be making this recipe once a week these days per the request of my boyfriend. It is simply excellent and easy to make. I seem to change it up a little bit each time depending on what I have on hand. I really like to add a bunch of crimini mushrooms, garlic and crushed red pepper but you can change it up with whatever you like. Thanks Giada

An excellent cold-weather treat! Super easy to make and the flavor is out of this world!!! I wish it would stay colder, longer, here in south Louisiana so I can really enjoy this more - something about eating this when it's really cold out makes it even better!~

This stew was very easy to put together. I only had fire-roasted tomatoes, this was fantastic. I added potatoes to the recipe. We will be keeping this recipe for future meals.

Just made this tonight for my neighbors and it was a hit, even the kids loved it!. Flavorful and easy to make. A no fail recipe. I doubled the recipe and added a can of black eyed peas instead of another can of kidney beans, a pinch of crushed red pepper, pasta and 3/4 cup more chicken stock. The tomato paste I used was the one with roasted garlic.

I made this chicken stew on a really cold night and it really hit the spot. I doubled the stock to make it more soupy and my daughter (2 1/2 had two bowls of it. I will surely make this again!!!!

This recipe is so flavorful, easy to make and such a comforting stew. My family loved it the first time I made it. It became "a keeper". My son loves to add a little hot pepper sauce to his and with a big chunk of crusty bread its soooo good and satisfying for a hearty appetite. Thanks Giada. You've outdone yourself again!
