This dish is so simple and yet, packed with such flavors. I took it to a pot luck dinner and my husband had to rush for a second helping before it's gone! This will be one of my staples for those cold winter nights!

This recipe is really easy and fast to make and VERY tasty. Made it for Sunday evening meal and discovered the recipe is so fast and easy to make (tasty!!! that it would be easy to make during the week after a busy day at work! I too added garlic to the dish and left all else as written. I served it over rice Sunday but this dish could be served over egg noodles or over crusty toasted "country" bread just as easy! Will make this dish again and again. Great winter comfort food!

I have made this stew twice in two weeks and my family loves it. The chicken is so moist when cooked this way. You'll want to double the recipe and try serving it with a sesame batard. Mmmm!

We host a monthly soup night (I make two from scratch soups and 15 to 20 people come to our home. I made this last night and it was a huge hit! I think it was the most popular soup ever. I used homemade stock and white beans since I had those on hand. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. It did continue to cook down throughout the evening (three hours so I probably could have used a little more stock. Otherwise it held really well on the stove. One person could not stop going back for more.
The only problem is that I did not have any leftovers. Guess I will be making it again next week for us.

I prepared this soup for my wife & I, on a cold winter day. My wife typically only likes cream soups -- "I don't like broth soups", she says. Itold her this soup was more like a "chili", well she bought it! She loved it - it was 10x better the next day. I altered the recipie a little: 2.5 pounds of breast and I added garlic to the oil in the beginning, along with 3x the thyme in the middle. It was also cheap to make- if U have fresh basil on the window sill & dry thyme in your spice rack, I made the meal for under $17!

I have had great success with many of Giada's recipes so I was disappointed with this one. I prepared this dish according to the recipe and it was just OK--a bit bland. It just seemed like it was missing something.
After reading the other reviews I would probably add garlic at the very least but will try a different recipe next time.

Used boneless chicken and was every bit as flavorful. Added red wine. Big hit w/ entire family.

This was an very easy meal to make and it tasted like I slaved in the kitchen all day long to make it. My family truly enjoy this chicken stew and they can't wait until I make it again. What a wonderful meal to share with your family!
