This was good but not great. A bit too sweet for me and not enough chocolate. The balance wasn't there. I'll be tweaking it though, maybe adding some instant coffee to give it a little extra depth.

Easy and very tasty! The measurements are perfect for one 9x13 cake.

This frosting was really easy and delicious! For the commentator who said this was barely enough for a 9x13 cake, I followed your advice and doubled the recipe -you were way off, there is more than enough icing as stated. For the commentator who kept adding chocolate chips to the frosting -this is homemade frosting -you can add more or less by maybe a third of a cup without messing with the consistency too much, taste should have been your guiding principle -use dye if you don't like the color, but then you might as well buy store bought.

I've never made chocolate frosting before, and this was a delicious start.

I'm not sure if I over processed it in my mixer, but the frosting thickened quickly after I had to take time adding more chocolate. The amount it calls for leaves it very light colored.

I thought it was hust fine i dont get why hock7174_10799678 and betham72 added things just leave it alone but i did add a 1/2 cup of coco powder and added 1 cup of confectioners sugar and milk mixed and that made it aswome people should respect Giada De Laurentiis recipies and not change this is to die for Also i think Giada De Laurentiis is smoken hot and is one sexie babe!

I agree with betham72 except I went further. I added 1/2 cup of Ghiradelli baking cocoa to the mix and also melted an entire 10 oz bag of Ghiradelli 60% cocao chocolate chips. It makes it less sweet and more chocolately.
