Deeelicious. I mixed the toasted nuts in at the last minute of the mixing. I served this with G's raspberry tiramisu for Mamacita. Homemade ice cream melts, so serve it quickly!

I made a gelato cake with this recipe and it worked perfectly. It came out rich and creamy and froze well in my spring form pan. I used vanilla ice cream as the base, then a crunchy chocolate cookie/coffee/hazelnut layer, followed by the Nutella gelato layer, and then topped with a layer whipped cream. All froze well, and served beautifully. The only modification I might make next time is adding a bit more Nutella to the recipe.

It was good, but not what I was expecting. If I were to make it again, I think I would cut the amount of sugar in half and add extra nutella or maybe even some hazelnut butter.

Compliments from everybody, all around. Delicious! My two-year old grandson calls it soup. Now whenever he comes over he asks me for "soup." I will be making lots of it, I'm sure!

This was my first time to make Gelato and I couldn't have picked a better recipe. So smooth and creamy. If you like Nutella you'll love this recipe. I was surprised how well it kept in the freezer. After 4 days, it was still smooth and creamy, no ice formation and not hard. I will be making to again, soon. It was made in a Cuisinart ICE-21.

Oh my....we love Nutella hot chocolate, so figures that this would all that and more. Made the base exactly as given, might add Nutella, or less sugar next time, definitely will be a next time! Used my new Kitchenaid ice cream maker, frozen for days, and chilled the base in a bowl of ice until thick around the edges. Then had to run and hide it in the freezer to have later! Yum...Thank you Giada!

Fantastic! I made this and paired it will Giada's chocolate raspberry brownie. Very tasty and the nutella flavor makes it more unique.

Super delicious and easy to make. I used 2% milk instead of whole milk and it didn't affect the flavor.

Absolutely delicious! Whole family loved this recipe. Very rich, decadent, and creamy gelato. We used Nutella brand chocolate-hazelnut spread for this recipe, and it came out great. Didn't adjust the amount sugar at all and while it was sweet, it wasn't too sweet. Thanks for the awesome recipe Giada!!

I'm glad I heeded the advice of other reviews and cut the sugar by 1/4 cup... the gelato is PLENTY sweet without it. Lovely texture and delicious!
