i've never made gelato/ice cream before. this will be my first time! i don't have an ice cream maker/machine and i don't want to use one. i've heard and read before that you can make some even if you don't have the machine. does anyone of you knows if i can really do that? and how? would i just put it in the freezer? or do i need to stir the mixture every now and then when i put in the freezer? please help me! thanks!!! =

This gelato is amazing. We visited Italy in Oct. and ate gelato every day! This was just as good as it was there. Creamy, chocolaty, hazelnutty, Try it - you won't be sorry! I wish I could give it 10 stars!!

This recipe yields truly delicious, smooth gelato, better than any you would buy at a grocery store. However, I would recommend that the custard be chilled overnight prior to being placed in the ice cream maker.

This was the very first ice cream I made in my Kitchen-Aid stand mixer ice cream maker. Took it to a dinner party and everyone was very impressed. Very easy to make!

I made this but didnt buy the hazelnuts for the topping. They were $5.49 a bag! Just used pecans I already had at home. It was smooth, rich, sweet and creamy. Thanks Giada!

I've tried so many different ice cream recipes and this is the only one my family says is not icy. When I came home from school, my dad went out the one night I was home to get the ingredients for me to make it for him.
