My family loved this dish. We usually have pecan pies, and I don't like pecans, so the hazelnuts were perfect for me. My family has asked me to make this again (they said pecans would be better. Great for holidays.

After reading the reviews, I decided to cut the corn syrup in half, but I felt the pie was intensely nutty. Perhaps more sugar would have offset this. I anticipated this pie would taste like Nutella, but it mostly tasted like toasted hazelnuts. I brought this for thanksgiving, and no one cared for it.

This is an extremely rich dessert! We will definately make again, but maybe cut down on the chocolate chips to 1/2 cup. We didn't find anything wrong with the 1 c. of corn syrup being too sweet as other reviewers did. Our tart was also done after 45 minutes as opposed to the one hour stated.

I completely agree with some of the other reviewers - Giada must have one heckuva sweet tooth! This recipe was sweet, sweet, sweet! And even after we use used 3/4 insetead of 1c corn syrup after reading some of the reviews. The first 5 bites were lovely, but then I had trouble getting the rest down. If I ever make it again I think I will use bitter sweet instead of semi sweet chocolate and half the corn syrup or lessen the sugar.

It was easy enough for my hita to make, and delicious enough to keep everyone coming back for more(unfortunatly it almost killed grandma, she couldent chew the nuts , but she really gave it her all.

basically this is like a pecan pie using hazelnuts rather than pecans and adding chocolate.
Since everyone was saying it was to sweet I only used half a cup of corn syrup and since I couldn't find hazelnuts I used pecans. It came out very nicely and was not too sweet. the sweetness was just right due to my decreasing the corn syrup. I couldn't help thinking that I would have prefered the pecan pie that I usually make. The basic recipe I have for that is better and I could substitute hazelnut for pecans and add chocolate. Nevertheless it is a good recipe. It helps to make a homemade crust.

This is so good. It is dangerous, how good it is. All that chocolate and nuts!!!!!!!! I could eat the whole pan so I will make sure to only have it when there are others there to stop me. So far, this is my favorite Giada dessert!!!
