YUM YUM YUM! I normally don't like chocolate and orange together, but I wanted to try something new for a pot luck at work. I could barely keep my fingers out of the batter this recipe is easy and so delicious!! I can't wait to make it again!

I made this for my Girlfriend for her baby shower. It was the perfect cake for 30 women to eat! Instead of using the candied orange peel, I just used the zest of one orange. It saved time and gave me the flavor I wanted. I also used cream cheese frosting instead of the lemon. Yum! No one had any idea that the base of the recipe was made from a mix.

i coated the chocolate chips in flour but they sunk to the bottom anyway. and the cupcake itself was too bland. why not just buy cupcakes? it's much easier, less time-consuming and cost efficient.

This is a great recipe if you enjoy chocolate and orange together! I did not use the candied orange peel in the cupcake portion. And I did add 3 oz. softened cream cheese and a little extra butter
(5 T. to the frosting recipe for a creamier taste. I also omitted the lemon juice/limoncello because the cream cheese provided enough tang.

These were just as easy to make as following the recipe on the back of the cake-mix box. I added a teaspoon of orange flavoring to the mix in addition to the orange juice and some orange zest (instead of crystallized orange. Also, the frosting is great as long as you add lots of orange and lemon juice and zest. These are the best cupcakes I've had/made to date!!

These were good, nice and moist. I used softened butter in place of the oil in the cake mix and that seemed to give it a nice texture. Warning, though. These were extremely orange-tasting. In fact, I think I might cut the orange peel in half next time, because they sort of sunk to the bottom of the cupcakes and became huge clumps of orange. The icing was just Ok. Not great by itself. I might try a butter-cream cheese icing with the orange zest.

I tried this recipe yesterday for a Halloween get-together today and everyone loved it. I was very pleased myself...and I thought it was delectable. I will definitely keep this recipe alive for years to come! Thank you Giada!

Great flavor, easy to make and a real hit at a dessert party I hosted. I used orange peel instead of candied peel as others commented. Just finished off the last cupcake, yum!

Great tasting recipe. Love the orange and chocolate together. The two tastes complement each other. Always love Giada's recipes. Again, to viewers who can,t find the recipe due to a web problem this is NOT the place to complain. Check out the site map to list your complaint.
