These were DELICIOUS! I just baked them as regular cookies and did not make the filling, as I felt it would make them too sweet. They were wonderful! I topped them with a little powdered sugar once they had cooled. This will definetely be my go to chocolate cookie recipe! Thanks Giada!

I have made these cookies four times, but without the frosting in the center, and they are delicious! However, the suggested bake time is too long, about 11 minutes is perfect and they remain soft and chewy. Also, regular chips are too large, small chocolate chunks or mini chips are the way to go. Sea salt totally adds a better flavor than regular salt.

Cookies were good and tender, but very sweet! I added chopped strawberries in the filling and only used about 1/2 the powdered sugar. This gave a nice flavor to cut the richness of the cookie. I was thinking of trying it with creme de menthe in the filling next time.

These were great! The combination of the cookie and the icing is super super sweet, so if you don't like intensly sweet cookies, these are not for you. I would recommend only putting a thin layer of icing in the middle. I had a ton of icing left over, so you could probably half the icing recipe and have more than enough for the cookies.

These cookies are so yummy! I used red food coloing to make pink frosting for Valentine's Day. Serve with fresh strawberries for an extra special treat.
