Followed recipe exactly. Meaat very tender, but the sauce was runny and rather bland. There was no complexity or depth to the sauce.

I thought this was the best roast recipe I've ever made. I have made this several times and the best was when I used the chuck roast. My mother loved it! That's good enough for me! Everything goes together so well. Giada makes me look like a rock star in the kitchen!

Nice pot roast but not extremely flavorful - also the chuck roast is SO fatty... it was ok but I won't be making it again.

Now THIS is a pot roast. Excellent recipe. I use this recipe as-is but add more carrots and some celery during cooking, and some small potatoes about 45 minutes before it's ready to serve. I also don't puree the veggies - it comes out a very delicious and traditional pot roast. Absolutely perfect!

This is about as personal as it gets.. I have been battling anorexia for almost a year. I haven't had "real" food since this past weekend when my dad made this recipe and asked for my help making it. I LOVE cooking. Ironic? It's my biggest passion. I cook for my family every night but would always make something else for myself. As we set the table as a family for this meal, I knew it would mean a lot to my dad if I ate with the rest of my family like a normal person. So I did.. and THIS RECIPE changed my life. It has only been two days since, but my body is on it's way to getting healthy again. This dish made me realize why I love food so much, and the beauty behind it. I couldn't help but smile with every bite that I took. It is absolutely perfect. I just thought I would share my experience with you, and I would recommend this recipe to everyone. Thank you, Giada. <3

Oh. My. Goodness. This was the most outstanding pot roast I have ever eatten by far! Maybe it's the sherry or maybe the blended veggies...but it's absolutely divine! We aren't fans of fennel, so I just left it out but kept everything else the same. It was absolutely outstanding and it's been a reasonable 2 weeks so am already planning to make this again this weekend!
