Such a nice change from a regular old salad. Giada is the queen of dressings- this one was so fresh and delcious I saved the extra and had it over green salad later. I love this style of segmenting the fruit too- have used it in a lot of salads since and makes it look very restaurant-y.

First time to eat fennel and I really liked it. My finished product did not look like Giada's. I used one blood orange, one navel and one grapefruit. I combined with one bulb of fennel and there just wasn't enough fruit. Guess you've just got to adjust and sizes of fruit really matter. This is very refreshing with nice textures. I will make and eat again. I can't wait to try it out on family and friends...it's very different and tasty!

This is a very tasty, refreshing salad. I did have to change the dressing though, as it was too bland. I only used 2 tablespoons of the grapefruit juice and added 3 tablespoons of regular orange juice as not enough juice came from the oranges and the dressing was too bland. I also added a pinch of sugar, as to me the salad really works better with a sweeter taste in the dressing.

This is my go-to recipe whenever I have an excess of citrus fruits in my house. I really just cut up whatever citrus fruits I have on hand in so it varies each time! Yummy!

Fabulously refreshing recipe! Without any basil on hand, I added fresh parsley and cilantro and served the mixture over top of chopped romaine. Add fresh spring rolls and you have a light, tasty dinner. I will be keeping this in the fridge and experimenting with different additions - sauteed shrimp sounds great

This salad is wonderfully fresh and crispy! I have made it several times but just with oranges (not a fan of grapefruit. I think that it would be great next to some grilled shrimp for a meal. Really wonderful for Summer.

I was pleasantly surprised! I did not have any fennel, so used celery instead.

I agree that the dressing is watery, but I didn't exactly measure the amount of fruit juice that yielded from the membranes. I went light on the olive oil because it was a fruity salad after all. I do agree that this recipe doesn't make many servings, but it's different and refreshing.

I made this last night for dinner along with Paula Deen's Broccoli Soup. I'd never had fennel before - it's really good, especially paired with the citrus fruit. Quick, easy and delicious. I'm having the leftovers over some Spring Salad greens, very good that way also. Love the dressing - will also use it in the future as a marinade for pork.

I tried to pass this off as "dessert" to my kids since they had already eaten and my wife and I were just sitting down to dinner. They didn't buy it as dessert since it lacked chocolate and they all gave it a whirl. This was my first foray into a citris salad and my first experience with fennel. I'm not a licorice or anise fan, but paired with the grapefruit and orange, the fennel was excellent! This was a very good dish which I'll likely make again when I'm looking for a unique salad.
