I think this is the best lasagna recipe I've ever tried. I used store-bought spaghetti sauce instead of her suggested homemade, and it still turned out wonderful. The bechamel sauce made all the difference! I will definitely be adding this one to my recipe collection.

Having had some really BAD lasagna several days before, I developed a craving and tackled Giada's recipe. I love her recipe for Marinara sauce (I can't stand bottled sauces and had some on hand in the freezer. I substituted no-cook noodles, which worked fine. I also sauteed some fresh garlic to add to the ground beef and omitted the spinach (not a huge fan of spinach in lasagna. I also added a little more marinara to the bechamel sauce since it was a little bland. The results were delicious. This recipe is also easy to cut in half if you're not cooking for a crowd.

Wonderful Lasagna, I will make it from now on and will always have the "Simply tomato sauce" in my freezer.

I love the show "Everyday Italian", so when the family asked for lasagna, I looked here first. From start to finish (including making the sauce from scratch, it took me 3 hours. For my 3 hours of work, even my 9 year old thought it lacked zest. It looked beautiful when it came out of the oven, but no one is going to eat these leftovers!

I've always been a fan of Giada's recipes but, this one was very bland. We ladeled marinara, mushrooms and seasonings over the lasagna to help it. Will not give up hope on her recipes.

I think this is the best lasagna, but only after some changes were made. First, I replaced all the ground beef with Italian sausage. It was too bland with only ground beef. Second, I used Barilla's Tomato & Basil spaghetti sauce in the sauce. It was much easier to open a jar than to make the other sauce from scratch. Third, I added parsley to the ricotta mixture. I find the ricotta and spinach layer to be quite bland. I also added sauteed onion and garlic to the spinach.
All in all, I love this lasagna recipe. I have already given it to several family member and friends, and they have all loved it.

According to most reviews, there wasn't enough flavor, I love flavor too, so I plan on using some. Basil is good with vegetables, so I'll use basil in the sauces. I'll use fresh garlic with the beef. Oregano is good with cheeses, so I'll use Oregano with the ricotta along with a little salt. On the show, she put salt on the spinach, so I'll do that too. I'll let you know how I like it. I never liked the American Traditional Lasagna, so this has got to be better than that! I love the variety with white sauce anyway (Bachamel Sauce, and I will make the sauces a day ahead otherwise I'll have to drink enough wine to bear the length of standing and time involved : (some wine added to the Tomato sauce may also be good for added flavor.
