This was very good but rich. It made it with Alaskan King Crab. Also it made so much I had to give some away. I had to double the ricotta.

I thought this recipe was very good & my husband loved it too! I am from the south and after reading reviews of not much flavor, I altered it a good bit - I added alot of tony chacheres seasoning (a cajun seasoning, a few red pepper flakes, only 1/4 cup chopped basil, and some itilian dried seasoning and garlic powder. I also added a handful of shredded mozzerrella to the filling and used 2 cups grated parm. and 1 cup shredded b/c I ran out of the grated. Additionally, for the sauce, I added shredded parmesan cheese to the bechamel as well as 1 cup of store bought alfredo sauce. I topped the canneloni with more seasong too for extra seasoning! it sounds like alot of additions, but it turned out great!

I took this as a base recipe and made some changes. I added cooked bacon, fresh garlic, green onions and parsley instead of basil to the filling. For the sauce, I did a creamy vodka sauce. Topped with parmesan and a mixture of italian cheeses, it was delicious..

Okay, so the recipe is a bit flawed with the white pepper. I can figure out that it's too much. On the other hand, the Bechamel sauce just doesn't match the recipe. Maybe it's all about individual taste, though it seems most agree an Alfredo sauce would work with the seafood better. Crab, in itself, already has a sweet flavor to it. The Bechamel just makes it taste like a dinner that's supposed to be dessert, only not even that good. Watch the white pepper and add Alfredo, you'll be "All Good".

If your grocery store doesn't sell fresh crab and you have to use canned...don't try this. Where I live we don't have fresh or even the kind in the tubs....it was awful with canned crab. I'm sure it would be better with fresh.

This was a very easy recipe to follow. It was very tasty and loved by my family of four. It is very filling and rich--my family can usually eat more than two cannelloni that is filled with beef or ricotta cheese, but a serving of two filled with the crab mix was enough to satisfy us! I will make this again as a treat (since the crab is expensive.

Oh my gosh...I LOVED this dish! I could have just sat and eaten the whole pan myself. So, so rich and creamy...I love crab, and this was a great way to cook with it. I'd definitely make this for company. The only thing that was a pain was filling the manacoti shells (I couldn't find cannelloni at our local store, so I substituted. I think next time I make them I'll make crepes instead and roll the filling in those as I do when I make manacoti.
