I always love Giadas recipes but this one was dull and boring. No great flavor, maybe it was the type of mushrooms I used I'm not sure.

Made this last night- no meat Fridays during Lent- and WOW fantastic! I have made several of Giada's recipes- another winner.

Thank you for a "vegetarian" recipe that is unique and so delicious! This recipe will definitely go into the regular rotation at my house. It's quick and easy and I can't say enough good things about it. Many excited expletives were uttered in this household upon sampling the first bite.

Excellent, but you need to add some oomph to it, lol. Here is what I did differently: First I added Sauteed onions and garlic with one parts butter and one part EVOO with the mushrooms. Instead of cooking water being used to moisten the sauce I used cream and white wine. Right before I added the salt and pepper I added a bit of creamy goat cheese. I also used sliced almonds instead of walnuts because that's what I had. Finally at the very end I added a splash of lemon juice and parsley.

I know it seams like many changes, however if it were not for Giada's inspiration I would not have been able to take a delicious recipe and add my own touches to it. I recommend adding your favorite ingredients in this as well! Have fun with it! :

Delicious! What makes Italian food so wonderful is its simplicity. You should be able to taste every part of the dish. Use really fresh, quality ingredients and this dish is wonderful.

I got Marscapone on sale at Kroger (the cheap kind and still thought the recipe was fabulous! You have to like mushrooms and asparagus lots. I think adding extra ingredients (onions, cranberries to the recipe would really have conflicted with the subtle flavors of nutmeg. I did add scallops, but they didn't add any extra flair. I'll leave them out next time. Very nice, simple pasta.

So many recipes without pictures. I would've loved to see a picture of the final dish on this one.

This is a very good dish! To those who think it's bland--it's very important to use a good brand of Marscapone as this is key to the flavor. Also, if there isn't enough salt in the pasta water, it will make it bland.
I have made this a few time and have added pancetta, shallots, extra garlic, and Italian parsley along the way. Doing that changes the flavor and it's still very good but I actually prefer the recipe as written with the exception of halving the amount of pasta used as there are only two of us to feed.
This was the first recipe from Giada that I made and I was so impressed with it that I have since tried several---all with fantastic results! She is one of the best cooks on Foodnetwork and I have little or no fear of failure using her recipes.
Thanks so much Giada and keep them coming please!
