    These are delicious! However, the picture is not a true representation. This is a picture of the Simple Baklava also by Giada-also delicious. The pictures have been switched, so to see this presentation put in Simple Baklava.

    The smoked Mozzarella was a little pricey, but making this recipe was super fun and it came out DELICIOUS! Everyone in my family enjoyed it! We plan on making more next time.

    I needed a quick, classy dish to make for company at the last minute and these were perfect. What could be quicker than slicing cheese and throwing it in some oil! Also, make sure you wait to fry the cheese until you're ready to eat so the cheese is hot and melty. They literally take less than a second in the oil and their golden brown. Wonderful!

    My impression on the first bite was "wow these are strangely incredible". The smoked mozzarella with the sweet honey is an interesting, unexpected and wonderful combination that after eating one, it was hard not to eat five more. This is definitely a bit hit as an appetizer. Highly recommended, ESPECIALLY for the mediterranean palettes out there!

    Instead of figs, I used fig jam. I stirred the fig jam into the honey. These were VERY easy to make and prep. Everyone loved these, and i thought they were good. I expected them to be a mix of sweet (honey, figs and salty smoked (cheese, but the honey and fig definitely overpowered the flavor of the cheese making it only a sweet dish. I will try brie next time. As is, this is better as a dessert. That is likely how i will serve them next time. I will also try it will different types of fruit, like apricots!

    Made this for friends -- didn't have smoked mozzarella or dried figs so I used brie and fresh figs from my tree -- everyone loved it! Easy and elegant.

    These were about the messiest things I have ever made; the phyllo wouldn't stay shut and the cheese therefore either partially melted out into the hot oil or melted out of the "parcels" onto my draining towel. The unfolded layers of phyllo held a lot of excess oil, also. Out of six I think maybe two turned out like they were supposed to. But dang, the flavor was unlike anything I have ever tasted! It's worth getting the technique down. Oh, and I used plain ol' mozzarella because I in fact do not like smoked cheese ;
